What you need to know
Important information
Our Devon out-of-hours (OOH) service is not a walk-in service. You must call NHS 111 first and be advised by them to use our OOH service. Our team cannot assess you unless you have been referred to us by NHS 111.
The Devon OOH service provides health care for urgent medical problems outside of your local GP’s normal surgery hours. We cannot offer repeat prescriptions – please contact your local GP surgery during their normal opening hours.
If you require assistance with a dental problem, please call NHS 111, and select the relevant option from the menu.
This service is available for urgent medical situations only, not for emergencies. If you have a medical emergency, or a critical or life-threatening problem, you should call 999. If you have an open wound which may need stitching or dressing, you should go direct to your nearest Accident and Emergency (A&E) department, or Minor Injury Unit (MIU).
Our OOH service covers 45 different locations across the country, serving more than 8.6 million people. See your local Devon OOH locations here.
